Recap: Preseason meeting

Since not everyone was able to attend the preseason meeting, we thought it would be a good idea to recap some of the key points. The evening began with a lavish food spread, plus drinks and desserts. Once Coach Sean finished eating those inside the clubhouse, he came outside with the rest of us, and then the meeting started.

Coach Sean and Coach Kevin were introduced. Coach Bruce was noted as being in absentia, which is a fancy word for, well, I think we all know Coach Bruce.

Coach Sean read a few very brief remarks and instructions, which can basically be summarized as, "Do what the coaches tell you to do" and "Don't be a pain." Those are the instructions for the parents. For the kids, it was essentially, "Have fun," "Do what the coaches tell you to do," and "Never pee on the lightpole unless you receive specific instructions from Coach Biscuit."

The highlight of the presentation was the uniform dress rehearsal, in which lots of dads stood around and tried to act like they knew what size to order, before calling over their wives and asking, "Honey, what about a medium?" For those who still aren't sure about the gray pants, I was able to take a quick photo of Asher wearing them so you could compare.

New families were required to go through an intense initiation process. Then they went home and had a serious talk about whether they actually wanted to spend two months with this bunch of lunatics.
